CHANGES TO MY STUDY PROGRAMME
I am currently pursuing my sixth semester of forestry engineering at the faculty of forestry and nature conservation. In that semester, I took nine branches in total, of which six are mandatory and the rest are elective ("Nursery Workshop", "Methods of Job Self-care for Future Professionals" and "English level B1+"). Of all the branches, the one that is more difficult for me is "Forest Dynamics", not because of the subject taught by the teachers, but because of the little interaction and variation they have at the time of teaching the class, which is extremely difficult for me to take care of the three and a half hours, in addition to being my last classes, therefore, there should be a change in teaching methods in most teachers and improve the schedule
Thirdly, I believe that some changes should be made to the infrastructure of the faculty, such as building more study rooms, that there are more comfortable chairs and tables in the classrooms and implement rest areas with several armchairs to sleep because the windows are extensive and in exam times (where stress usually abounds in the students) you need to rest. Regarding the uses of technologies, I think that the computer rooms should be larger or build more simply, in addition to investing in technological implements for practices because they are always lacking.
In conclusion, the faculty should invest in training methods of teaching more didactic teachers, better organize the academic schedule, changes in infrastructure (study rooms; chairs and tables more comfortable; more computers) and in scientific and technological implements for field practices.
I totally agree with you, three and a half hours of forest dynamics, is too much! In addition to being the last class of the day and the teacher´s voice make us very sleepy!
